## Background
[Bosque de Chapultepec](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapultepec) ("Hill of the Grasshopper" in Nahuatl) is one of the largest city parks in the Western Hemisphere, measuring over 686 hectares (1,695 acres). It serves as the primary "lungs" of Mexico City.
The park is divided into three sections. **Section 1** is the most visited and contains:
* **Chapultepec Zoo** (Zoológico de Chapultepec) - Home to Giant Pandas.
* **Chapultepec Castle** (Castillo de Chapultepec) - The only royal castle in the Americas, now the National Museum of History.
* **National Museum of Anthropology** - A world-class museum.
* **Lago Mayor & Lago Menor** - Artificial lakes popular for paddle boating and feeding ducks.
## Best time to visit
The park is open Tuesday to Sunday (Closed Mondays).
* **For Kids/Ducks:** Go to Section 1 (near the Zoo and Lakes).
* **Crowds:** Weekends are very busy with local families. Arrive early (9-10 AM) to beat the rush and the heat.
* **Ducks:** The lakes in Section 1 (Lago Menor/Mayor) are the best spots.
