#airbnb #visited ## Review First off, [[El Cuyo]]'s beaches are incredible and should be visited regardless of lodging. The Awakening Beach House is right on the beach, has a lot of amenities including a chef and cold plunge (both for a fee), decent internet access, a full albeit small kitchen, and a kayak you can take out (a short distance) into the Gulf of Mexico. The town of El Cuyo (plus corner stores, fruit stands, etc) is just a short walk away. The owners (who also own the [[Awakening Sanctuary]]) are good people, and along with the staff were very attentive and flexible with our requests. We stayed at the house with 7 adults and 3 babies. Although the house is [advertised](https://www.airbnb.mx/rooms/46297336) as able to fit up to 13 people, it was incredibly cramped even just with our party (taking up 5 beds). Every room in the house (including the dining room, living room, etc) has been converted to a bedroom, and the insufficient insulation and airflow meant every room felt damp all the time. There was a mold smell in two of the bedrooms. The only public space is the outside covered patio, on which we had all of our meals, worked on our laptops, and otherwise hung out when not on the beach.
