#city #visited ## Background Motul is known as the birthplace of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, one of the most important and well-respected Yucatecan governors in history. It is located about 45 minutes east of [[Mérida]]. Named a Pueblo Mágico, Motul is known for *huevos motuleños*, an egg dish served on tortillas, covered with tomato salsa, beans, cheese, and habanero peppers.
