## Background
Sisal is a historic port town and designated Pueblo Mágico on the northwest coast of Yucatán. Once the main port for henequen export, it is now known for its quiet beaches, mangroves, and historical fort.
## Review
Beach town about 1 hour northwest of [[Mérida]]. The best place for us to go to the beach – less populated and less developed compared to [[Progreso]], and not as far as [[Celestún]].
The [[Club de Patos]] is a great boutique hotel to stay and relax for a weekend.
